A DJ who does not have great successes, who avoids mainstream trends, who has not released an album for a long time and who nonetheless remains at the top of rankings and favoritism around the world: we are talking about the legendary Dixon.
He started back in the early ’90s in Berlin, where his recognition as a DJ came out (that cliché stretch of DJ release to date), but success was not so cliche like that. When Dixon started, his likes and dislikes, the number of plays on digital platforms did not matter much, but his experience, quality and techniques of discography. The better he played, with a good repertoire, the more chance he found there, and that was the path Dixon had taken.
By learning how to effectively run a dance floor, he began to earn his residences, which illustrated his techniques and versatility as an artist. Starting low and rising more and more, going through peaks of instability, until finally, achieving that desired stability. Dixon was a perfect conductor, who knew how to lead the dance floor like no one else.
Much more than a DJ who longed for fame, Dixon did not want to grow alone. Along with him, he took several names to clubs and events in Berlin or around the world, increasing his reputation and of course, the network of contacts. It was like that, from one place to another, knowing different faces, that Dixon returned home with a gigantic baggage, until finally he got in touch with the Jazzanova label Sonar Kollekti.
As time passed, new genres began to emerge and take over clubs, like minimal, which left Dixon with that doubt: should I surrender the new tendencies or rebuild myself? There was no doubt that the second option was the most plausible. Dixon rebuilt himself and that’s how he created, along with Âme, a sublabel of Sonar Kollekti: Innervisions.

House was always in its essence and being faithful to it was paramount, however, with all the changes in the music scene, Dixon brought a new life to the genre so loved. He not only created a sublabel, but also saw it become independent and one of the most influential record companies in the underground scene, which unintentionally created its own sonority and identity, which infiltrated other styles, totally affecting the music scene . Of influenced, Dixon happened to be the influent one.
Dixon is the type of DJ who prepares his presentations with great affection, starting with the rigorous selection of the tracks that will be played, attention to details and sound quality. In addition, he abuses the visual with his theatrical colors and floral, so much so that his abilities his skills were requisitioned by the universe of fashion … a born artist!

Authenticity is the ultimate goal of Dixon and this is what it will bring to the DGTL. It was this obsession for the only one that led the DJ to do editions on several tracks, so that they can fit perfectly in their presentations. He wants to go beyond just a set, he wants to educate and entertain the track at the same time and so will be, when he takes on Modular stage of the DGTL. Of one thing we are sure: it will be a great and pleasant class with the master.
